Tourist Information
Tsukiji Fish Market Area
The famous Tsukiji wholesale fish market is one of the largest and busiest in the world. At daybreak, catches from different parts of the globe are transported here for bidding and auction. Tsukiji has quickly become one of the hot tourist spots in Tokyo for its unique auction scenes and ultra-fresh sushi (yes, you can find sushi restaurants right at the market!). In the area are also other tourist spots such as Honganji Temple and Kachidoki Bridge.
Ginza/Yuurakucho Area
Ginza got its name from being the official sliver coin minting factory during the Edo Shogun period (Gin means silver in Japanese).
Now Ginza has become the shopping district for locals and tourists. You will find the flagship stores of all name brands offering you the latest fashion, home deco, luxury goods and everything that satisfies your shopping crave.
Shinbasi/Siodome Area
Nearby is the Shinbasi Subway station around which is one of the business commercial district. Here you will find the office buildings for big corporation such as Panasonic, Japan TV, Dentsui. Also in the area are the famous "Four Seasons" Theater (Japan's Broadway!) and Hamarikyu Onjaku Park, a historical monument from Edo period.
Tsukisima Area
This is where the "old" Tokyo intertwines with "new" Tokyo seamlessly. A hot spot for young people and a popular place for movie scenes. Also the originating place for the popular local street snack "Monjayaki." From here you can see the famous Rainbow Bridge.
